When planning an event in a hotel (or convention centre), the hotel will suggest you use their in-house audio visual provider. This is generally NOT in your best interest. These venues are being paid a commission by their in-house AV service provider (typically in the 30 – 45% range) which means you are paying 30 – 45% more for the AV services in comparison to bringing in your own, independent event AV service provider.
We strongly urge you to consider hiring your own, qualified, independent audio visual event service company, which will result in a better event service experience while providing you with significant, direct cost savings!!
BEFORE YOU SIGN A CONTRACT WITH A VENUE:
- Tell them you’d like to bring in your own event AV service provider;
- Ask them to waive any potential penalties associated with doing so;
It’s your event, so it should be your choice. The audio visual component of your event is what helps ensure your audience has a great experience at your event and understands what you’re trying to say and show. You shouldn’t have to compromise when it comes to getting your message across to your audience.
